Today we would like to share with you one of our favorite toothpastes, Colgate Total SF.
This is one of several toothpastes that we recommend to our patients on a daily basis. But before we tell you why we like and recommend this product, we want to start off by mentioning that there isn't one specific toothpaste that triumphs them all. There are several toothpastes out on the market that are great, we recommend that you buy one that fits your specific needs.
Why do we recommend Colgate Total SF to our patients?
The main reason why we recommend Colgate Total SF has to do with the efficacy of its active ingredient, Stannous Fluoride (in addition to having a great minty taste). We believe that Stannous Fluoride provides that best overall protection against the most common dental concerns that the majority of toothpastes tackle, these are:
Aids in cavity prevention.
Helps fight gingivitis (a form of gum disease).
Reduces tooth sensitivity.
As mentioned in our previous blog. Fluoride helps prevent decay by creating a "stronger" protective layer around the tooth... making it more difficult for acid causing bacteria to remove essential minerals from your tooth and cause breakdown of the tooth (decay).
